Overview:
Another Round Another Rally and Sweet&Chilli are proud to present a meaningful cocktail competition, built around the smooth spirit and renowned flavor of Gentleman Jack, sponsored by Gentleman Jack.
The Another Round Another Rally and Sweet&Chilli 2022 Gentleman Jack Whiskey Sour Competition is calling for bartenders with a brilliant passion for whiskey, creative minds and fast skills, honed to impress an esteemed panel of judges. Initial submissions will be narrowed down to a field of 49 competitors, chosen from 7 markets. One skilled winner will take the ultimate cash prize home, of $10,000.
Challenge:
Create and submit two cocktail variations of a Whiskey Sour, featuring Gentleman Jack.
The cocktails should showcase your aptitude as a bartender, from specs to ingredients to garnish, and the versatility and beauty of the brand. Bartending isn’t merely about what’s in the glass, but also about storytelling, entertaining and enlightening your audience. We want to see your personality shine. You will showcase one classic version & one modern take on the Whiskey Sour using Gentleman Jack.
The Classic:
Gentleman Jack considers a “Classic Whiskey Sour” a cocktail consisting of whiskey, lemon, sugar & egg white (Optional). Use this as a guide to craft your classic recipe. We are looking for your ability to create a Whiskey Sour that’s balanced using Gentleman Jack, using classic ingredients. If you interpret the “Classic Whiskey Sour” in a different way or choose to use different ingredients in your cocktail, please be prepared to explain your choices in ingredients with historical references – your chance to hit the history books!
The Modern:
The first challenge was taking inspiration from the past & mastering a classic. Now we are looking for the Whiskey Sour of the future – your modern classic! This is your turn to let your creativity shine. We want to see your best rendition of a whiskey sour that’s true to YOU. We encourage you to experiment with different citrus & syrups that complement Gentleman Jack in the glass. There is no limitation on choice of ingredients with this challenge, but keep in mind the DNA of the whiskey sour while you’re crafting your recipe. Your entry round submissions will need to include the same ingredients you plan to use in the semi-finals if selected to move forward in the competition.
